Career Description

Aarti is the sole APSATS (Association of Partners of Sex Addicts and Trauma Specialists) trained partner specialist in Asia. As a Certified Clinical Partner Specialist (CCPS), she works with many Partners of Betrayal Trauma. Her training in the Multi-Dimensional Trauma Model gives her a unique understanding of Complex and Relational Trauma. She has also been facilitating the longest-running therapeutic support group for Partners of Sex Addicts in Singapore and possibly Asia. Her tireless and dedicated efforts to help partners and families of addiction have led to her recent appointment to the Board of Directors of APSATS.

She works with partners through the entire cycle from Discovery to Recovery©. This unique approach has given structure, understanding, and comfort to her clients as they try to navigate the most difficult period in their lives. She is also one of the few specialists to work with children comprising all gender and age groups (teenagers to adults). This approach has yielded significantly improved results in post-Trauma family cohesion compared to previous approaches. Her Gottman training has equipped her to work with the affected couple to attempt to heal the Relational Trauma.

Trained as a clinical therapist, Aarti works extensively with Developmental Trauma and Attachment Wounds. Having achieved significant success working with individuals, both children and adults, suffering from Trauma, victims of Relational Abuse, Anxiety Disorders, Depression, Mood Disorders, etc. she found her true calling in helping people heal themselves from the inside out.

Primarily adopting a Client-Centred approach, Aarti combines multi-disciplinary approaches such as the inclusion of NLP, CBT, DBT, EFT & Gestalt in order to provide her clients with a wider toolkit to support their healing journey. Having completed her Brainspotting training for Phase 1 and 2, she seamlessly blends this into her practice to help her clients gain more in-depth healing from traumatic experiences.

Aarti’s portfolio of work also includes work with those in the sphere of emotional and behavioural challenges. She works tirelessly with teenagers and young adults who are most at risk from self-harm, suicide, depression, eating disorders, and body image issues. Aarti is also at the leading edge of the practise by addressing more recent phenomena such as cyber-bullying, ill effects of technology such as premature, accidental exposure to graphic porn.
